The saree is considered the most elegant feminine wear of women of Indian & Srilankan origin.

Women from the sub continent always look beautiful and graceful in a saree as our structure and oriental look is best suited for a saree.

It has been around for many years and has not lost it’s beauty and femininity. For this reason many Brides still choose to wear a saree for their wedding and it is always a pleasure dealing with a young Bride to be who visits my Sydney boutique to find something unique for their special day.

A bride draped in a white or coloured saree with a veil is absolutely outstanding. It showcases the beautiful culture and tradition of our heritage.

For a wedding, festival or national event- the saree is a popular choice as it offers a grand and elegant look. Sarees comes in multitude qualities and you can choose to wear a light weight or beautiful cotton in summer and go for thicker quality in colder months.

Some sarees come in the most vibrant colours & will draw anyone’s attention and some come in beautiful pastel shades that radiate the gentle softer look.

The borders & pallu play an important part in choosing a saree. The contrast of these on the main body is always very striking.

A saree can be draped in many ways and the saree blouse is also stitched in many designs that enhances the beauty of the saree.  Many now look outside the square of the traditional blouse & choose to wear blouses in absolutely stunning designs & also in contrast colours.

Though many choose the modern textures of Net, lace, Chiffon etc there have been a few who have bought the traditional Kanchipuram/ Manipuri  textures and have carried the regal look as a bride.

Kanchipurams – the’ queen’ of sarees can never be outdone. The regal look of kanchipurams will make one stand out in any function. Kanchipurams now come in range of colours with very modernised designs and  easy to drape quality.

On the funny side as someone said – “a saree covers all the flaws ( sins) of the body” or it has emergency use- if you need a piece of cloth ( for bandage etc) you can easily tear it off & use it, you can easily wrap around to carry babies ( tea pluckers do), most fondly many of us have grown clinging on to our mother’s saree falls or playing hide & seek under the pleats of the saree.

The uniqueness of a saree is that any jewellery can be matched with a sari. Whether it be traditional jewellery, kundan jewellery or Swarovski

A Saree is also the most affordable attire and can be worn again for many occasions. Even a simple saree can be made to look outstanding by the way it is worn and carried, the stunning blouse & accessories.

You can wear the same saree with different blouse  and in different ways to make it special for each occasion.

Today’s designers like Satya Paul have brought in new dimension with their own concepts which is absolutely stunning and some brides and bridal families are choosing the Satya paul saree for  special occasions.

It is a pleasure to bring a range of Sarees to my customers through my saree shop in Sydney and to assist many Brides and their families with their wedding sarees.
